Accessibility features: Visitors will find there is level access to the main entrance and five lifts throughout the aquarium which will connect you to all exhibits and floors. An accessible toilet is located on-site and can be opened via Radar Key. Please find a member of staff for assistance with this. Accessibility features: Ferens Art Gallery has ramp access to the main entrance. Wheelchair users will also find that the gallery is fully accessible with lifts connecting all floors. Accessibility features: The Streetlife Museum has a step-free main entrance. This is also where the accessible toilet is located. There is also a lift in the museum that connects the two floors (ground and first). A manual wheelchair can be borrowed from reception, however there is only one available at any time.


Important note: some areas of the museum are not wheelchair accessible as there is only step access.

Wilberforce House

Wilberforce House

Intro: Wilberforce House stands as a poignant tribute to the life and legacy of William Wilberforce, a key figure in the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade. Visitors can explore the historic Georgian home where Wilberforce lived and learn about his tireless efforts toward social justice and human rights.


Accessibility features: Wheelchair users will find this house largely accessible as there is step-free access to the main entrance and lifts connecting the floors. There is also an accessible toilet located at the main entrance. The garden paths are made from old paving stones. Manual wheelchairs are available to borrow from reception.


An important note: due to the age of Wilberforce House, not all areas are accessible by wheelchair or lift. Three of the galleries on the first floor will not be accessible via lift and the upper floors have very narrow hallways, limiting the access of large electric wheelchairs.
